Hello, I'm Shelley, co-founder of Little Mountain Geos. My journey with rocks and minerals began at a very early age, shaped by the adventurous days spent rock hunting alongside my father in the scenic landscapes of Central Saskatchewan and my curiosity to what I now know to be lapidary equipment and jewellery casts. Those early years laid the foundation for a lifelong connection with the Earth and its hidden treasures.
In 2015, my father passed away, leaving me with cherished memories and a profound appreciation for the world he introduced me to. To honor his legacy, I delved deeper into the world of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Little did I know that this exploration would lead to the creation of Little Mountain Geos, a family-driven venture that blends my passion for geology with a commitment to sharing the marvels of the Earth with a wider audience.
My professional journey in the industry spans four years, during which I honed my skills and deepened my understanding of rocks and minerals. However, a burning desire to do more and a fascination with minerals rarely seen in my backyard fueled the inception of Little Mountain Geos. This venture is not merely a business; it's a homage to the memories of my father and a celebration of our shared love for the Earth.
As a co-founder, my husband Lee is an integral part of this endeavor, bringing his support and shared enthusiasm for minerals. Our two amazing children, Shyan and Logan, contribute their talents to make Little Mountain Geos a true family affair. Shyan's creativity shines behind the scenes, crafting the narrative of our brand through marketing, while Logan, with his love for minerals, may take on the role of a host, sharing his passion and knowledge with our audience.
Quality is the cornerstone of Little Mountain Geos. I take pride in curating a collection of stones that reflects our commitment to offering nothing but the best. Beyond being a business, we are educators. Our live sessions aim to not only showcase the beauty of our stones but also to impart knowledge, creating an informed and engaged community of mineral enthusiasts.
Beyond the world of rocks and minerals, my family and I share a deep love for each other. Our yearly vacations and moments spent together are the glue that binds us. Our two dogs and a cat are not just pets but cherished members of our family. If we had an acreage, our love for animals would undoubtedly lead to a growing menagerie.

With over 30 years of experience in the retail industry working in both Canada and the United States of America, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as the co-founder of Little Mountain Geos. My journey in retail began decades ago, where I honed my skills in customer service, inventory management, and business development.
As a co-founder of Little Mountain Geos, I'm dedicated to leveraging my retail experience to drive the success of our online platform. Together with my wife Shelley, we launched Little Mountain Geos as an online experience specializing in rocks, gems, and minerals, through Facebook. My responsibilities encompass curating our product offerings, shipping & logistics and fostering a vibrant community of enthusiasts. I might add that I offer coffee service to the live host when required but don’t want that included in my contract!
Throughout my career in retail, I've had the privilege of building lasting relationships with customers and suppliers alike. I look forward to transitioning into the world of online retail with Little Mountain Geos and welcome you on this journey. Measurables to our success will be the rewarding milestones such as receiving positive feedback from our satisfied customers.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I am happily married to Shelley with a fantastic home life with our adult children. I am actively involved in the community where I hold a seat on the Police Advisory Committee, act as the Sponsorship Coordinator for the Ride for Dad charity that supports Prostate Cancer Research and Awareness and find time to support my passion for hockey by refereeing in the HSL on weekends when time permits.
